What this site is

CookingCalculator is a free collection of kitchen calculators and reference guides. There is no account, no subscription and no paid tier. The calculators run in your browser and are free to use for personal and professional cooking alike.

Accuracy, and the limits of it

This is the part that actually matters, so it is not buried at the bottom. Converting a volume measurement to a weight can never be exact:

• The same cup of flour can vary by 20% or more depending on brand, grind, humidity and whether it was scooped or spooned into the cup.
• Reputable published sources disagree with each other on the density of common ingredients.
• Equipment conversions — oven to air fryer, one cake pan to another — depend on your specific appliance and require you to watch the food, not just the timer.

We source our figures carefully and document them on the data sources page, but you should always use your own judgement, and check food is properly cooked. For bread, pastry and other ratio-sensitive baking, use a scale.

Nothing on this site is food safety, dietary, medical or nutritional advice. If you have allergies, a medical condition, or are cooking for someone who does, verify ingredients and cooking temperatures against an authoritative source for your situation.

Provided "as is"

The site and its content are provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any figure on it is free of mistakes.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from your use of this site — including a recipe that did not work, ingredients that were wasted, or a dish that did not turn out. You use the conversions at your own risk and remain responsible for what happens in your kitchen.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions of liability, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Scrape, crawl or bulk-download the site in a way that places unreasonable load on it, or copy the ingredient database wholesale to republish as your own.
• Attempt to interfere with, probe or gain unauthorised access to the site or its infrastructure.
• Use the contact form to send spam, malware or automated submissions. The form is rate-limited for this reason.
• Frame or mirror the site in a way that misrepresents who produced it.

You are welcome to use conversions from this site in your own cooking, in a recipe you publish, or in a class you teach. A link back is appreciated but not required.

Intellectual property

The site's name, design, written guides and the compiled presentation of our data are ours. Individual physical facts — the density of honey, the volume of a 9-inch pan — are not copyrightable, and we make no claim over them. Our compilation, wording and layout are protected.

Feedback you send us

If you send us a correction, suggestion or ingredient request, you allow us to act on it and incorporate it into the site without obligation or compensation. We will not publish your name or email address alongside it. Do not send us anything confidential through the contact form.

Advertising

The site is funded by advertising served through Google AdSense. We do not control which specific advertisements appear and do not endorse the products in them. How advertising cookies work, and how to opt out of personalised ads, is explained in our Privacy Policy.

Third-party links

We link to external sources, references and recipes. Those sites are not under our control and we are not responsible for their content, accuracy or their own terms.

Changes and availability

We may add, change or remove calculators, guides and data at any time, and we may update these terms. When we change them we will update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.

This is a free service with no uptime guarantee. We may suspend or discontinue any part of it without notice.
